Gentoo Linux Security Advisory 202406-5 - Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in JHead, the worst of which may lead to arbitrary code execution. Versions greater than or equal to 3.08 are affected.

An attacker could possibly use this issue to crash Jhead, resulting in a denial of service. Kyle Brown discovered that Jhead did not properly handle certain crafted images while regenerating the Exif thumbnail. An attacker could possibly use this issue to execute arbitrary commands.

In addition a buffer overflow error in exif.c has been addressed which could lead to a denial of service (application crash).
