It was discovered that Perl incorrectly handled certain regular expressions. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause Perl to hang, resulting in a denial of service. Ubuntu Security Notice 3625-1 - It was discovered that Perl incorrectly handled certain regular expressions. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause Perl to hang, resulting in a denial of service. This issue only affected Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. It was discovered that Perl incorrectly loaded libraries from the current working directory. A local attacker could possibly use this issue to execute arbitrary code. This issue only affected Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Various other issues were also addressed.
