This update provides the corresponding tcpdump update for Ubuntu 12.04 ESM. Wilfried Kirsch discovered a buffer overflow in the SLIP decoder in tcpdump. A remote attacker could use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code. Various other issues were also addressed.
