DESCRIPTION:
rgod has discovered a vulnerability in Dell OpenManage IT Assistant,
which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose potentially
sensitive system information.
The vulnerability is caused due to the insecure "readRegVal()" method
in the detectIESettingsForITA ActiveX control allowing to query
registry key/value pairs and can be exploited to disclose arbitrary
registry values.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 8.9.0
(detectIESettingsForITA.ocx version 8.1.0.0). Other versions may also
be affected.
SOLUTION:
Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
