PHP Secure Communications Library 0.3.1
Posted Nov 20, 2012
Authored by Jim Wigginton | Site phpseclib.sourceforge.net

PHP Secure Communications Library is a set of pure PHP implementations of DES, 3DES, RC4, Rijndael, AES, RSA (PKCS#1 compliant [v2.1]), SSH-1, SSH-2, and SFTP.

Changes: This release added Net_SSH2::enableQuietMode() for suppressing stderr, added Crypt_RSA::__toString() and Crypt_RSA::getSize(), fixes problems with File_X509::validateDate(), File_X509::sign(), and Crypt_RSA::verify(), uses OpenSSL to speed up modular exponentiation in Math_BigInteger, improves timeout functionality in Net_SSH2, adds support for SFTPv2, and adds support for CRLs in File_X509. SSH-2.0-SSH doesn't implement hmac-*-96 correctly.

Libgcrypt 1.5.0
Posted Nov 12, 2012
Authored by Werner Koch | Site gnu.org

Libgcrypt is a general-purpose cryptographic library based on the code from GnuPG. It provides functions for all cryptographic building blocks: symmetric ciphers (AES, DES, Blowfish, CAST5, Twofish, and Arcfour), hash algorithms (MD4, MD5, RIPE-MD160, SHA-1, and TIGER-192), MACs (HMAC for all hash algorithms), public key algorithms (RSA, ElGamal, and DSA), large integer functions, random numbers, and a lot of supporting functions.

Changes: This release added a new gcry_kdf_derive function implementing OpenPGP S2K algorithms and PBKDF2, support for Windows CE, support for ECDH, OAEP, and PSS methods (RFC 3447), new "%M" and "%u" format specifiers for gcry_sexp_build, and new functions that map ECC parameters to a curve name and parameter values. gcry_mpi_cmp when applied to opaque values now has a defined semantic. Intel AES-NI instructions are used if available. The module register subsystem has been deprecated. CTR mode may now be used with data chunks of arbitrary length. PKCS v1.5 code was fixed to always return the leading zero.

Libcap-NG Library 0.7
Posted Jul 26, 2012
Site people.redhat.com

The libcap-ng library is intended to make programming with POSIX capabilities much easier than the traditional libcap library. It includes utilities that can analyze all currently running applications to locate applications that may have too many privileges.

Changes: This release adds support for a new Linux kernel capability, closes potentially leaked file descriptors, fixes a potential segfault, and solves a problem which resulted in reduced capabilities in pscap to cause fewer processes to be reported on.

Botan C++ Crypto Algorithms Library 1.10.3
Posted Jul 26, 2012
Site botan.randombit.net

Botan is a C++ library of cryptographic algorithms, including AES, DES, SHA-1, RSA, DSA, Diffie-Hellman, and many others. It also supports X.509 certificates and CRLs, and PKCS #10 certificate requests, and has a high level filter/pipe message processing system. The library is easily portable to most systems and compilers, and includes a substantial tutorial and API reference.

Changes: Several bugs in the TLS implementation related to session renegotiation have been fixed. The SRP password-based key agreement scheme and the Camellia block cipher have been added. Support for the Ivy Bridge hardware random number generator has also been added. Various minor bugs affecting OpenBSD and MinGW users have been fixed.

GNU SASL 1.8.0
Posted May 29, 2012
Authored by Simon Josefsson

GNU SASL is an implementation of the Simple Authentication and Security Layer framework and a few common SASL mechanisms. SASL is used by network servers such as IMAP and SMTP to request authentication from clients, and in clients to authenticate against servers. The library includes support for the SASL framework (with authentication functions and application data privacy and integrity functions) and at least partial support for the CRAM-MD5, EXTERNAL, GSSAPI, ANONYMOUS, PLAIN, SECURID, DIGEST-MD5, LOGIN, NTLM, and KERBEROS_V5 mechanisms.

Changes: This is a new major stable release. SAML20 support following RFC 6595. OPENID20 support following RFC 6616. SMTP server examples (e.g. for SCRAM, SAML20, and OPENID20). Various cleanups, portability fixes, and other bugfixes. The API and ABI are fully backwards compatible with version 1.6.x.

libdvdcss 1.2.11
Posted Nov 16, 2011
Site videolan.org

libdvdcss is a cross-platform library for transparent DVD device access with on-the-fly CSS decryption. It currently runs under Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, BSD/OS, Solaris, BeOS, Win95/Win98, Win2k/WinXP, MacOS X, HP-UX, QNX, and OS/2. It is used by libdvdread and most DVD players such as VLC because of its portability and because, unlike similar libraries, it does not require your DVD drive to be region locked.

Changes: This release improves RPC-II drive handling and contains a more robust keys retrieval mode. It also introduces fixes for MingW and OS/2 compilation, and has various bugfixes for small issues, memory leaks, crashes, and build issues.
