httptunnel v2.4 (client) for Windows NT creates a bidirectional virtual data path tunnelled in HTTP requests. The requests can be sent via an HTTP proxy if so desired. This can be useful for users behind restrictive firewalls. If WWW access is allowed through an HTTP proxy, it's possible to use httptunnel and, say, telnet or PPP to connect to a computer outside the firewall. Requires cygwin1.dll.

Changes: This version has a major incompatibility change in the protocol and is generally more robust. This is a beta release in anticipation of 2.0. Changes: Improved poll() emulation and HTTP parsing. hts --content-length works now. Experimental setsockopt() settings to make connections more reliable.
