DESCRIPTION:
Two security issues have been reported in GNU TeXmacs, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The security issues are caused due to the
"src/plugins/mupad/bin/tm_mupad_help" and "src/misc/bundle/TeXmacs"
scripts incorrectly setting the environment variables LD_LIBRARY_PATH
or DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH. This can be exploited to gain escalated
privileges by e.g. tricking a user into running the scripts in a
directory containing a malicious library.
The security issues are reported in version 1.0.7. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to trusted users only.
