A potential vulnerability has been identified with HP LoadRunner and HP Performance Center. The vulnerability could be remotely exploited to allow execution of arbitrary code.

RESOLUTION

The vulnerability can be resolved by closing ports 5001 and 5002.

To Close Ports 5001 and 5002

Create {InstallationFolder}\launch_service\dat\merc_agent.cfg if it does not exist
where {InstalllationFolder} is the LoadRunner or Performance Center installation folder
Open {InstallationFolder}\launch_service\dat\merc_agent.cfg
Add to the [Attributes] section the key "HttpTunnel=0"

Note: Ports 5001 and 5002 are closed by default in versions of LoadRunner and Performance Center after v9.52.
