DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Microsoft Data Access
Components, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise
a user's system.
1) An error when handling the DSN (Data Source Name) argument of a
certain ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) API can be exploited to
cause a buffer overflow by e.g. tricking a user into viewing a
specially crafted web page.
Successful exploitation requires an installed third-party application
to use the affected ODBC API in a vulnerable manner.
2) A memory allocation error when parsing internal data structures
can be exploited to corrupt memory by e.g. tricking a user into
viewing a specially crafted web page.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities allows execution of
arbitrary code.
SOLUTION:
Apply patches.
