DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Gimp, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

1) A boundary error within the "loadit()" function in
plug-ins/common/sphere-designer.c of the "Sphere Designer" plugin can
be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by e.g. tricking a
user into opening a specially crafted file via the plugin.

2) Boundary errors within the "load_preset_response()" function in
plug-ins/lighting/lighting-ui.c of the "Lighting Effects" plugin can
be exploited to cause stack-based buffer overflows by e.g. tricking a
user into opening a specially crafted "Lighting preset" file via the
plugin.

3) A boundary error within the "gfig_read_parameter_gimp_rgb()"
function in plug-ins/gfig/gfig-style.c can be exploited to cause a
stack-based buffer overflow by e.g. tricking a user into opening a
specially GFIG file or opening a specially crafted XCF file and
subsequently using the GFIG plugin.

4) A boundary error within the "read_channel_data()" function in
plug-ins/common/file-psp.c can be exploited to cause a heap-based
buffer overflow by e.g. tricking a user into opening a specially
crafted PSP file.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.6.11. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Do not open untrusted files.
