DESCRIPTION:
Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Oracle Secure Backup,
which can be exploited by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable
system and by malicious people to bypass certain security
restrictions or to compromise a vulnerable system.
1) A boundary error in the "obscheduled.exe" service can be exploited
to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by sending specially crafted
command packets to port 1026/TCP or 1027/TCP.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with
SYSTEM privileges.
2) An input sanitisation error exists in the processing of the
"uname" variable within login.php in the administration server. This
can be exploited to bypass the login check via shell metacharacters
and access sensitive information on the administration server.
3) An input sanitisation error exists in the processing of the
"other" and "objectname" variables within property_box.php in the
administration server. This can be exploited via certain special
characters to inject and execute arbitrary commands with privileges
of the web server.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires
authentication.
4) An input sanitisation error exists in the processing of the
"selector[0]" and "preauth" variable within index.php in the
administration server. This can be exploited via certain special
characters to inject and execute arbitrary commands with privileges
of the web server.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires
authentication.
5) An error in the "register globals" emulation layer in the
administration server can be exploited to specify program variables
via the URI and bypass the authentication mechanism.
This may allow exploitation of vulnerabilities where authentication
is usually required.
6) Input passed to the internal obtool binary (running on port 443)
is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to
inject and execute arbitrary commands with privileges of the running
service.
The vulnerabilities are reported in version 10.3.0.1. Other versions
may also be affected.
