DESCRIPTION:
Sow Ching Shiong has discovered a vulnerability in SnugServer, which
can be exploited by malicious users to disclose potentially sensitive
information or manipulate certain data.
An input validation error exists within the FTP service, which can be
exploited to download or upload arbitrary files outside the FTP root
via directory traversal sequences.
Successful exploitation when uploading files requires that the
attacker has write privileges to e.g. a folder within the FTP root.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 4.3.0.126. Prior versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.3.0.128.
PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Sow Ching Shiong, reported via Secunia.
