DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Cisco IOS, which can be
exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
An error exists when processing TCP options during the TCP session
establishment phase. This can be exploited to cause a vulnerable
device to reload via a specially crafted TCP segment.
Successful exploitation requires that the vulnerable device is
configured to use a specific TCP window size, Path MTU Discovery for
TCP, or Stateful NAT with TCP. Exploitation through the BGP TCP port
179 may also be possible (please see the vendor advisory for
details).
SOLUTION:
Update to the fixed version (please see the vendor's advisories for
details).
