TITLE:
TheGreenBow VPN Client "tgb" File Processing Buffer Overflow

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA38262

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/38262/

DESCRIPTION:
Brett Gervasoni has discovered a vulnerability in TheGreenBow VPN
Client, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a
user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the processing
of ".tgb" files and can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer
overflow e.g. with an overly long string passed via the
"OpenScriptAfterUp" variable.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but
requires that a user is tricked into adding or replacing a
configuration when a specially crafted ".tgb" file is opened.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 4.65.003. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Reportedly, the vulnerability will be fixed in the next release.

Do not open "tgb" files from untrusted sources.

PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
