DESCRIPTION:
Giuseppe Bonfa has discovered a vulnerability in avast!
Home/Professional, which can be exploited by malicious, local users
to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or gain escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "aswMon2"
kernel driver when processing IOCTLs. This can be exploited to cause
a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted 0xB2C80018
IOCTL.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code with
SYSTEM privileges.

The vulnerability is confirmed in avast! Professional version
4.8.1351. Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Restrict local access to trusted users only.
