DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in DotNetNuke, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and
script insertion attacks.
1) The language skin object does not properly sanitised certain path
names before using them. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary
HTML and script code, which is executed in a user's browser session
in context of an affected site when malicious data is viewed.
Successful exploitation requires that the multiple language pack is
installed and the Language skin object is used.
2) Certain unspecified input passed to the ClientAPI is not properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited go
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.9.5 or 5.1.2.
Note: The vendor recommends to use version 5.1.2 due to additional
security enhancements related to vulnerability #2.
