TITLE:
Common Data Format CDF File Processing Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA35940

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/35940/

DESCRIPTION:
Leon Juranic has reported some vulnerabilities in Common Data Format,
which can potentially be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS
(Denial of Service) or compromise an application using the library.

1) An array indexing error in the "ReadAEDRList64()" function can be
exploited to cause a memory corruption and potentially execute
arbitrary code when a specially crafted CDF is being parsed.

2) Various unspecified errors within e.g. the
"SearchForRecord_r_64()", "LastRecord64()", and "CDFsel64()"
functions can be exploited to cause memory corruptions.

The vulnerabilities are reported in version 3.2.4. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 3.3.
