TITLE:
Elvin Multiple Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA35486

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/35486/

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Elvin, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting
attacks, disclose potentially sensitive information, and conduct SQL
injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "inUser" and "inPass" parameter in login.php
is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can
be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL
code.

2) Input passed to e.g. the "id" parameter in show_bug.cgi and
show_activity.php and potentially other parameters and other scripts
is not properly sanitised before being used in an SQL query or
returned to the user. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries
by injecting arbitrary script code or execute arbitrary HTML and
script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site.

3) Input passed to the "id" parameter in page.php is not properly
verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to
include arbitrary files from local resources via directory traversal
attacks.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.2.1. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and
verified. Restrict access to trusted user only.
