Nibin Varghese has reported some vulnerabilities in CA ARCserve
Backup, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS
(Denial of Service).
1) An error in the ASCORE module of the message engine can be
exploited to cause a crash by sending a specially crafted RPC packet
to port 6503/TCP.
2) An error within the message engine can be exploited to cause a DoS
by sending specially crafted RPC packets to port 6503/TCP.
The vulnerabilities are reported in the following products and
versions:
* CA ARCserve Backup r12.0 for Windows
* CA ARCserve Backup r12.0 SP1 for Windows
