TITLE:
FreeBSD libc "db" Interface Information Leak Weakness

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA34810

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/34810/

DESCRIPTION:
FreeBSD has acknowledged a weakness in libc, which can be exploited
by malicious, local users to gain knowledge of potentially sensitive
information.

The weakness is caused due to the "db" interface for Berkeley DB 1.85
database not properly initialising allocated data structures, which
can be exploited to disclose potentially sensitive information by
reading files created with the "db" interface.

SOLUTION:
Update FreeBSD or apply patches. Rebuild any database files created
with a vulnerable version of libc.
