TITLE:

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA34470

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/34470/

DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in IBM Access Support ActiveX
Control, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a
user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the ActiveX
control (IbmEgath.dll) when parsing input to the "GetXMLValue()"
method. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow
via an overly long argument.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is reported in version 3.20.284.0. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
