DESCRIPTION:
Snakespc has discovered a vulnerability in SocialEngine, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.
Input passed to the "category_id" parameter in blog.php (when "user"
is set to a valid user name) is not properly sanitised before being
used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries
by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires that the blog
plugin is enabled.
This vulnerability is confirmed in version 3.06 trial. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
