DESCRIPTION:
Some security issues have been reported in MailScanner, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions with
escalated privileges.
1) Several "autoupdate" scripts use temporary files in an insecure
manner. This can be exploited to e.g. overwrite arbitrary files via
symlink attacks.
2) The SpamAssassin and TNEF handlers use temporary files in an
insecure manner. This can be exploited to e.g. overwrite arbitrary
files via symlink attacks.
The security issues are reported in versions prior to 4.74.6-2.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in beta version 4.74.6-2.
Restrict local access to trusted users only.
