SOFTWARE:
WebCards 1.x

DESCRIPTION:
t0pP8uZz has discovered two vulnerabilities in WebCards, which can be
exploited by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable system and by
malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "user" parameter in admin.php is not properly
sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to
manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability allows e.g. logging in
as an administrator without valid administrator credentials, but
requires knowledge of an administrator username and that
"magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.

2) A vulnerability is caused due to improper restrictions in
admin.php on what file types administrators are allowed to upload.
This can be exploited to upload and execute arbitrary PHP code after
adding an image macro for the ".php" extension.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires valid
administrator credentials (but see #1).

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.3_fixed_1. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
1) Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
2) Grant administrator access to trusted people only.
