DESCRIPTION:
Tobias Klein has reported a vulnerability in various G DATA products,
which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated
privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the GDTdiIcpt.sys
kernel driver when processing the IOCTL 0x8317001c. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges by sending
a specially crafted IOCTL request to the driver.
The vulnerability is reported in G DATA AntiVirus 2008,
InternetSecurity 2008, and TotalCare 2008. Other versions may also be
affected.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in G DATA AntiVirus 2009, InternetSecurity 2009, and TotalCare
2009.
Restrict local access to trusted persons.
