DESCRIPTION:
Maksymilian Arciemowicz has reported some vulnerabilities in FreeBSD,
which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a
vulnerable system.
The vulnerabilities are caused due to multiple integer overflows in
the libc "strfmon()" function. These can be exploited to cause a
crash or potentially execute arbitrary code via specially crafted
format specifiers.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerabilities are reported in FreeBSD 7.0 and 6.x. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Do not pass untrusted format strings to "strfmon()".
