A potential security vulnerability has been identified with HP StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools (LTT) running on HP-UX. The vulnerability could be exploited by a local authorized user to gain unauthorized access.

RESOLUTION
HP has provided the following software update to resolve this vulnerability. 

HP StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools v4.5 SR1 (7 Mar 2008) or subsequent

The software update is available for download from www.hp.com/support/tapetools 
Under Prooduct Information select HP LT&T Tool. Then select HP-UX 11.x. 

Note: To determine the date of HP StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools installed, execute the follwoing command: 
ll /opt/ltt/hp_ltt

HP-UX Software Assistant: HP-UX Software Assistant is an enhanced application that replaces HP-UX Security Patch Check. It analyzes all Security Bulletins issued by HP and lists recommended actions that may apply to a specific HP-UX system. It can also download patches and create a depot automatically.
