DESCRIPTION:
A security issue has been reported in the Linux Kernel, which
potentially can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS
(Denial of Service).
The security is caused due to a NULL pointer dereference in
arch/powerpc/platforms/chrp/setup.c, which can be exploited to crash
a vulnerable system.
Successful exploitation requires certain PowerPC hardware.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to trusted users only.
