A potential security vulnerability has been identified with HP-UX applications running DCE such as Software Distributor (SD). The vulnerability could be exploited remotely to create a denial of service (DoS).

The Hewlett-Packard Company thanks Tenable Network Security, working with Zero Day Initiative at TippingPoint for reporting this vulnerability to security-alert@hp.com.

To determine if an HP-UX system has an affected version, search the output of "swlist -a revision -l fileset" for one of the filesets listed below.
For affected systems verify that the recommended action has been taken.
