CRITICAL:
Less critical

IMPACT:

WHERE:
>From local network

SOFTWARE:
ManageEngine EventLog Analyzer 4.x
http://secunia.com/product/16715/

DESCRIPTION:
A security issue has been reported in ManageEngine EventLog Analyzer,
which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security
restrictions.

The problem is that the application installs MySQL with insecure
settings i.e. accepting remote connections and including an account
with a username of "root" and having a blank password. This can be
exploited to gain access to the database and potentially manipulate
the logs.

The security issue is reported in EventLog Analyzer build 4030 for
Windows. Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
The vendor recommends making configuration changes by adding a
password and blocking MySQL connections from other machines. Please
contact the vendor for more information.
