DESCRIPTION:
A weakness has been reported in Samhain, which can be exploited by
malicious people to disclose potentially sensitive information and to
perform brute force attacks.

The weakness is caused due to the improper seeding of the random
number generator. This can be exploited to disclose potentially
sensitive information transmitted during the client/server
communication process, or during the forwarding of the logfile and
email reports, and to perform brute force attacks when using
passwords generated using the yule password generating function (yule
-G).

The weakness is reported in version 2.4.0 and 2.4.0a.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 2.4.1.
