http://secunia.com/product/15507/

DESCRIPTION:
shinnai has discovered two vulnerabilities in the nvUtility.Utility
ActiveX control, which can be exploited by malicious people to
manipulate data or compromise a user's system.

1) The "DeleteXMLFile()" method of the nvUtility.Utility ActiveX
control (nvUtility.dll) allows attackers to delete arbitrary files on
a user's system by e.g. tricking a user into visiting a malicious
website.

2) The "SaveXMLFile()" method of the nvUtility.Utility ActiveX
control (nvUtility.dll) allows attackers to write data into arbitrary
files. This can be exploited to e.g. create a malicious batch file in
the Windows autostart folder by tricking a user into visiting a
malicious website.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.0.14.0 of the
nvUtility.Utility ActiveX control as included in Network Video
Recorder SP2 version 2.0.30.

SOLUTION:
Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
