DESCRIPTION:
Cesar Cerrudo has reported a vulnerability in Oracle Database 10,
which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated
privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to the incorrect use of the
"SetSecurityDescriptorDacl()" function when performing various tasks
such as setting the security attributes of the process, creating
events, mutexes, and named pipes. This can be exploited to execute
arbitrary code with escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is reported in version 10g. Other versions may also
be affected.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to trusted users only.
