DESCRIPTION:
John Munther and Maxim Salomon have reported two vulnerabilities in
Aruba Mobility Controller, which can be exploited by malicious people
to bypass certain security restrictions, cause a DoS (Denial of
Service), or potentially compromise a vulnerable system.
1) A boundary error within the management interface can be exploited
to cause a heap-based buffer overflow by sending overly long strings
as credentials.
Successful exploitation crashes the management interface process and
may allow arbitrary code execution.
2) An error in the guest account authentication process within the
Captive Portal can be exploited to e.g. gain access to administrative
sections without specifying a password.
The vulnerabilities are reported in all Aruba Networks Mobility
Controller devices with firmware versions 2.0 or greater.
SOLUTION:
Update to the latest patched firmware version.
