DESCRIPTION:
Nomenumbra has discovered a vulnerability in X7 Chat, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.

Input passed to the "avatar" parameter when setting the URL for a
remote avatar image isn't properly verified before being used. This
can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will
be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site
when the malicious user data containing a reference to a URL with the
"javascript:" URI handler is viewed with the Microsoft Internet
Explorer browser.

The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 2.0.2. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.
