DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Novell GroupWise Messenger,
which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable
system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the Novell
Messaging Agent service (port 8300/tcp) when processing the
"Accept-Language:" header. This can be exploited to cause a
stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long string (more than 16
characters) not containing "," or ";" characters.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability has been reported in Novell GroupWise Messenger
2.0.
SOLUTION:
A fix is available with GroupWise Messenger 2.0 Public Beta 2 via the
GroupWise 7 Support Pack 1 Beta 2.

The fix will also be included in the shipping release of Messenger
2.0 SP1.
