VULNERABILITY SUMMARY:
A potential vulnerability has been identified with HP OpenView
Event Correlation Services (OV ECS). This vulnerability could be
exploited remotely by an unauthorized user to gain privileged
access.

->HP OpenView Event Correlation Services (OV ECS) 3.10, 3.20,
3.30, 3.31, 3.32, and 3.33 running on HP-UX B.11.00, B.11.11, and
B.11.23, Solaris, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Linux.

BACKGROUND:

The Hewlett-Packard Company thanks NGSSoftware for reporting this
vulnerability to security-alert@hp.com.

->Note: The initial release of this Security Bulletin
recommended moving ecscmg.ovpl from the cgi-bin directory into
another directory. The ecscmg.ovpl file should be restored to
the cgi-bin directory before applying the patches listed in the
Resolution section below.
