DESCRIPTION:
Filip Groszynski has discovered two vulnerabilities in CMS Made
Simple, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a
vulnerable system.
1) It is possible to access the "admin/lang.php" script in the
administration section without being authenticated by defining the
"CMS_ADMIN_PAGE" parameter.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.
2) Input passed to the "nls[file][vx][vxsfx]" parameter in
admin/lang.php is not properly verified, before it is used to include
files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from external
and local resources.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled,
and that the user is authenticated as an administrative user.
The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 0.10. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.
Set "register_globals" to "Off".
