SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:

VERIFY ADVISORY:

CRITICAL:
Highly critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, System access

WHERE:
>From remote

SOFTWARE:
ModernBill 4.x
http://secunia.com/product/4899/

DESCRIPTION:
James Bercegay has reported some vulnerabilities in ModernBill, which
can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting
attacks and compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to the "c_code" and "aid" parameters in
"orderwiz.php" isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the
user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code
in a user's browser session in context of a vulnerable site.

2) Input passed to the "DIR" parameter in "news.php" isn't properly
verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited
to include arbitrary files from external and local resources.

Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 4.3.0 and prior.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.3.1.
