DESCRIPTION:
Joey Hess has reported a vulnerability in wmFrog, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions on a
vulnerable system with escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to temporary files being created
insecurely by default. This can be exploited via symlink attacks to
create or overwrite arbitrary files on the system with the privileges
of the user running wmFrog.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 0.1.6. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Use the "-tmp" command line option to specify a secure temporary
directory.
Grant only trusted users access to affected systems.
