TITLE:
PHP-Fusion SQL Injection and Script Insertion Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:

VERIFY ADVISORY:

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data

WHERE:
>From remote

SOFTWARE:
PHP-Fusion 4.x
http://secunia.com/product/3803/

DESCRIPTION:
r0ut3r has discovered some vulnerabilities in PHP-Fusion, which can
be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection and script
insertion attacks.

1) Input passed to the the "rowstart" parameter in "members.php" and
the "comment_id" parameter in "comments.php" isn't properly sanitised
before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate
SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation requires user to be authenticated. Access to
"comments.php" requires administrator privileges.

2) Input passed to fields in "Submit News", "Submit Link", and
"Submit Article" is not properly sanitised before being used. This
can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will
be executed in an administrator's browser session in context of an
affected site when the malicious user data is viewed.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed on version 4.01 with security
update applied. Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
