DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in LibTIFF, which can be exploited
by malicious people to compromise an application using the library.
The vulnerability is caused due to an integer overflow error in the
"gtTileSeparate()" function (libtiff/tif_getimage.c) when parsing
images. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow
via a specially crafted image.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is reported in version 3.9.4. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Do not open untrusted TIFF images.
