Onapsis Security Advisory - Weaknesses in the SAP WebAS system allow for malicious shortcut generation. The SAP Web Application Server provides access to many services through a Web engine, called the SAP Internet Communication Framework (ICM).


5. Vulnerability Details
===========================

The SAP Web Application Server provides access to many services through a Web engine, called the SAP Internet Communication Framework (ICM).

The SHORTCUT ICF service represents a dangerous functionality per-se, as it can be executed anonymously by malicious parties to perform client-side
attacks to the organization's end-users.

Furthermore, this service contains a parameter injection vulnerability, which provides attackers with further control over the generation of the SAP
shortcuts.

Further technical details about this issue are not disclosed at this moment with the purpose of providing enough time to affected customers to patch
their systems and protect against the exploitation of the described vulnerability.
