DESCRIPTION:
A weakness has been reported in Pidgin, which can be exploited by
malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The weakness is caused due to an error in the
"gdk_pixbuf__gif_image_load()" function and can be exploited to cause
memory exhaustion by providing a specially crafted GIF image as buddy
icon.
The weakness is reported in versions prior to 2.9.0.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 2.9.0.
