Overview

An off by one error resulting in an allocation of zero size in FFmpeg in Google Chrome prior to 54.0.2840.98 for Mac, and 54.0.2840.99 for Windows, and 54.0.2840.100 for Linux, and 55.0.2883.84 for Android allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted video file.

Ubuntu Security Notice 3133-1 - Multiple security vulnerabilities were discovered in Chromium. If a user were tricked in to opening a specially crafted website, an attacker could potentially exploit these to obtain sensitive information, cause a denial of service via application crash, or execute arbitrary code. A heap-corruption issue was discovered in FFmpeg. If a user were tricked in to opening a specially crafted website, an attacker could potentially exploit this to cause a denial of service via application crash, or execute arbitrary code. Various other issues were also addressed.

Red Hat Security Advisory 2016-2718-01 - Chromium is an open-source web browser, powered by WebKit. This update upgrades Chromium to version 54.0.2840.100. Security Fix: Multiple flaws were found in the processing of malformed web content. A web page containing malicious content could cause Chromium to crash, execute arbitrary code, or disclose sensitive information when visited by the victim.
