Overview

The Role Based Access Control (RBAC) implementation in JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 6.2.0 through 6.3.2 does not properly verify authorization conditions, which allows remote authenticated users to add, modify, and undefine otherwise restricted attributes by leveraging the Maintainer role.

It was found that the RESTEasy DocumentProvider did not set the external-parameter-entities and external-general-entities features appropriately, thus allowing external entity expansion. A remote attacker able to send XML requests to a RESTEasy endpoint could use this flaw to read files accessible to the user running the application server, and potentially perform other more advanced XML eXternal Entity attacks.
