DESCRIPTION:
High-Tech Bridge SA has discovered multiple vulnerabilities in the
Rating-Widget plugin for WordPress, which can be exploited by
malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
Input passed to the "selected_key" parameter in
wp-content/plugins/rating-widget/view/availability_options.php,
"vars[type]" parameter in
wp-content/plugins/rating-widget/view/rating.php, and
"rw_form_hidden_field_name" parameter in
wp-content/plugins/rating-widget/view/save.php is not properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.3.2. Other version may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
