DESCRIPTION:
A security issue has been reported in Objectivity/DB, which can be
exploited by malicious people to disclose potentially sensitive
information, manipulate certain data, and cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).
The security issue is caused due to some components (e.g. Lock Server
and Advanced Multithreaded Server) allowing to perform various
administrative operations without authentication. This can be
exploited to e.g. shutdown the application servers by sending
specific commands to TCP ports 6779 and 6780.
The security issue is reported in version R10. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to trusted hosts only (e.g. via network access
control lists).
