DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in NetBSD, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service) or gain escalated privileges.
1) The "larn" game does not properly handling SETGID permissions,
which can be exploited to e.g. modify files in the "/var/games"
directory with privileges of the "games" group.
2) A signedness error in the "SMBIOC_OPENSESSION" ioctl of the netsmb
file system kernel module can be exploited to cause the kernel to
allocate large memory buffers and exhaust all memory.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in the CVS repository (please see the vendor advisory for
details).
