DESCRIPTION:
Pepelux has discovered a vulnerability in HP Data Protector, which
can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to a NULL-pointer dereference error
in OmniInet.exe and can be exploited to cause the process to crash
via a specially crafted packet sent to e.g. TCP port 5555.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version A.06.11.0000. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to trusted hosts only.
